Halloween in Sac Town

Halloween is a holiday celebrated every year on the night October 31st. Although it was first started in Ireland, it is now celebrated across the world. Halloween activities include bonfires, ghost tours, trick or treat, carving pumpkins, haunted house tours and costume parties. Traditionally, this was the time used by the pagans to stockpile their supplies and livestock slaughter for the winter.

Halloween in Sac Town is a feast that has something in store for everyone. The absence of the colors of the east and weather of Midwest does not dampen the festive spirits. The pumpkin patches and haunted train rides are worth the experience for everyone.

Old Sacramento is the most popular destination among tourists for an entire day of activities. This may be because of all the haunted stories that are encircling the place since the days of the Great Gold Rush. Built on a history of ghosts, Old Sac Town is the place for a first hand haunted experience.

A pumpkin patch on the historic streets and the haunted train ride are the major attractions of Halloween in Old Sac Town. A cool breeze coming up from the river will make your stroll in the pumpkin patch extremely relaxing. Once on the haunted train, the decorations which consist of spider webs, skulls and skeletons hanging from the roof tops will add to the feel of Halloween. The 40 minute ride in the haunted train along the river filled with performing ghosts to scare you along with the entertaining music on the train is enchanting. A hayride and a pumpkin of your own from Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm will bring you in the perfect mood for the Halloween in Sac Town.

Sac Town Halloween has much in store for the kids as well. Running in the barn, climbing up the steps to slide down the built in slide to the hay laid below will keep your kids occupied for quite sometime. They will also relish the hay bounce, which is an area padded with hay, to give a bounce like the bounce house. Going through the gigantic pumpkin tunnel in the haunted train is sure to enchant the kids. They will also enjoy the pony ride and the corn maze. On picking your Halloween pumpkin, you can take either a hay ride or consider walking back to the pumpkin patch. You may want to try the hay ride for the plain magic of it.

Picking the best pumpkin from the apparently everlasting pumpkin patch may tricky. The pumpkin still on the vine is the freshest. With the freshest pumpkin in hand and a fun filled Halloween experience, you will already be considering the options of arriving here next Halloween.
